Also still DLL error message after that last reboot.

After Fix checking home page is now restored. Thanks a bunch!
Before Fix checking, every time I logged on to my user, a new folder would be created in C:\WINDOWS. Folders would be named for example msiesh.dll or in C:\INTERNETEXPLORER folder named celghwbw.exe.
My virus protection would find them, but would not fix.
I would go in and delete them.
It wasn't until fixcheck, rebooting to safe mode and deleting the file
C:\WINDOWS\image.dll that the homepage was restored.
After the 2nd fix check the anti-virus picked up image.new.
I deleted that. It hasn't returned.
The only new thing now is in a folder C:\Systemvolume.restore then more after that.
Each time the anti-virus detects these it says that they are a win32.winshow.Gtrojan.
Here is the latest log file.
Thanks-Rick

It may be that all you need to do is clear the system restore system. As it is you would not wish to restore to a malware state, so you are losing nothing by getting rid of them.
You will need to turn off system restore, reboot, and then turn it back on. Here is a link to Bay Wolfs site of instructions. http://www.bay-wolf.com/dk.htm#4a
Post back with if that clears the remaining problems.
It will not affect any data files that you have, nor any programs that are installed.
All that it will do is stop the ability to restore to an earlier date than the data when you turn it back on. You lose the restore points for the registery etc. As the earlier points are suspect of having malware, you (or I ) would not wish to restore to them anyway.

Still getting error message RUNDLL.
Any advice on this or the win32.winshow.Gtrojan? -----------end quote------------------------
I still can't see anything running in your log.
When do you get the RUNDLL error, does it give any more info than that.
When do you get the advise of the trojan. and at what location does your AV program find it. If in the recycle bin, empty that and rescan with your AV program.
When logging on user (any user) RUNDLL error message
error loading C:\windows\image.dll (the specified module could not be found)
AV program picksGtrojan up at different times.
Again-before fix checking with your help-various AV alerts were coming. All very similar. I would delete. Then every re-boot another would come.
Usually these alerts would come just as I was logging on. The alert would say found in a certain location on C drive. You click OK then the same alert-8-9 times I'd have to click OK.
Once I deleted files you specified-AV program flashed the same alert-only this time file name was image.new
I immediately deleted-emptied bin-then re-boot. Believe me I've never re-booted so much.
All previous AV alerts have disappeared.
Now the same one keeps coming. SOmetimes after I've been logged on for 30 minutes. Sometimes when I start-up. Mostly when computer has been idle for a bit.
I'm trying to remember as much as possible.
Was running Norton-Anti-virus when this hit. It was going to expire. Roadrunner had a free offer for AV program with firewall, spam pop-up, etc.
The error messages had been coming for over a week before I switched AV provider. It wasn't until after installing that I registered and contacted you.

Important: Create a folder on the C: drive called C:\HJT.
You can do this by going to My Computer (Windows key+e) then double click on C: then right click and select New then Folder and name it HJT.

Here's the latest log.
Also ran ad-aware and spybot after first check fix. Virus Software picked up some files that were"win32.winshow.Gtrojan. Are these related.
Also still DLL error message after that last reboot.

Please reboot again - the log is now showing clear, although some malware can hide from hijackthis..
Please give full error message as it appears on screen.
Are you being hijacked to any search sites - or any other symptoms.
Post another new log with your reply.

Error Message Reads: RUNDLL
Error loading C:\WINDOWS\image.dll

Maybe a dumb question but....
Will this affect any other programs?
Just electronically filed taxes today (TurboTax).
Will my files still be saved?
Thanks-Rick

Per previous message--
When logging on user (any user) RUNDLL error message
error loading C:\windows\image.dll (the specified module could not be found)
AV program picksGtrojan up at different times.
Thanks for the continued follow-up-Rick
