you've indicated that Spybot finds a "Smitfraud" problem... but on the other, you've also started an HJT thread entitled "Smitfraud infection but no symptoms".   I think it fair to say that if you truly had a smitfraud problem, the symptoms would be most obviously manifested.   in short, if you don't actually see a problem, you don't have smitfraud actively running on your computer.  

(perhaps spybot is finding a non-critical lingering vestigial remnant?)

 

any attempt to edit one's registry, particularly if you have any doubts as to EXACTLY what should be done, entails great risk:   removing even one critical registry entry could render your computer completely unbootable.

 

As it happens, I've responded to MANY of your posts today.  I realize you have questions... and some legitimate problems... and that you want to get your system fixed as quickly as possible.    But being impatient, and attempting [often inappropriate] "fixes" on your own, is not helping you:  persisting in multiple posts here in virus/spyware... as well as multiple posts in HJT... is not "winning you any friends" --- in fact, it's entirely likely that some of the HJT experts [all of whom are VOLUNTEERS, no one actually works for Dell] have chosen not to accept your log, simply because they believe you won't follow their instructions "to the letter" --- and are afraid you'll "wander off" to other tools of your own, only to eventually complain that things have gotten worse. 

 

I believe I've made a reasonable effort to help you.   I've also repeatedly stated that, having posted in the HJT forum, you should confine ALL your work to a single thread there.   your continued multiple posting is just not working.

 

Mr.Kevinhelper, Unless you are a real techie and very knowledgeable do not delete anything from the registry without an expert advice. I have noticed that you have several threads going right now and have received some good advice from other forum members. You can receive the best help by staying in the same thread. It sounds like from your other threads that you have multiple problems. Just be patient. Right now I think your best bet is to stick to the thread you have in the HijackThis forum.

After reading all these threads started by you I have come to the conclusion that you are apparently very impatient or are incapable of following directions. There are many other people that come to these forums with problems. The responders like Ky331, Bugbatter, Joe53 and Bamajim are all volunteers who spend a lot of time on the forums and who have a goodly amount of knowledge about how to fix these various problems, and they have helped literally hundreds of people to get their systems clean and working again. But they are busy people and only have so much time and energy to contribute to these forums or any one person.

 

You seem to ignore everything they suggest, usually with a dismissive remark, and then you go off on some tangent looking for your own solution(s)...which ultimately can ruin your system as many of these tools are quite powerful. I suspect that at some point most of them will simply quit responding to your posts.

 

Finally, you seem to have started responding to other peoples threads with what can be wrong or contradictory advice to what has been suggested by the volunteers. If this continues it is very likely that the board moderator will be in contact with you. Just some friendly advice
