Mediaaccess.exe Error Message

Sounds suspiciously like some kind of malware-type spyware.

 

The error message of "0xc0000142" sounds like there is a process in Windows that is crashing...a necessary file may be corrupted.

 

I just did a quick Google search...MediaAccess.exe is in fact malware. 

 

I recommend this website: http://www.broadbandsupport.net ...look under Security Info...there is a lot of stuff about virus and spyware there...links are listed for (free) programs to download for use against spyware.

 

The most popular anti-spyware applications out there include Spybot Search & Destroy v. 1.4 and Lavasoft's Ad-Aware SE Personal v. 1.06...you can install these, run updates to make sure they are as up-to-date as possible, and perform full system scans of your PC...that should do the trick.

 

However, it is possible that the MediaAccess application is too entrenched for this...after a cleanup and restart of the PC...if it is still there, then I would suggest visiting the Hijack This forum for further help.
