Thank you so much for replying to my post.   I didn't find anything in "system restore."

I have not attempted to delete these infected files.   I'm hesitant to do so because all of  the files have  an .exe  extention.  Norton says they could not be repaired.

Do you think it would be safe to delete them?   Since they are in quarantine, wouldn't they be dysfunctional anyway?  Even though I have no idea what purpose they have, I went ahead and listed them.  I'm not doing anything on the computer that would bring me shame if someone saw where I have been. 

 

BTW--I'm not short on space.  My hard disk drive  has a total size of 18.6 GB with 13.2 GB of free space.  My operating system is Windows XP SP2.
