Yes, Dell now installs spyware on new Dells. The spyware is very difficult to remove also. Removing in add/remove programs makes it disappear from there but it is still on the computer. It has to be removed in the registry. I was wondering if anyone on these boards would ever get concerned about this. My home site had a very long thread about this issue. I came here after reading the first post in that thread "New Dell PC's come with Spyware" and could not find a single reference to this very disturbing development. I have an 8300 thank goodness as the 8400s, even when bought from Small Business, as I did, now come with spyware. Very sad and shocking that Dell would do this. This spyware is causing some small businesses to cancel orders for Dells because they have to take extra time to reformat all the computers. I've always loved Dell computers but I wish Dell would just sell me a computer and leave off all the junk (including an antivirus trial I don't want, AOL, etc) and now spyware.
