Need help to reclaim my computer

Question

I have a Inspiron 6000 that starts up ok, until the pop ups start. One right after another until the memory says it can't continue and wants you to close some windows.  I have tried to go to safe mode and the pop ups are in there as well, I have tried to get to pc restore, but the pop ups take over and keep opening until the computer shuts down.  I figure I need to reimage the hard drive to wipe everything, but how can I do that before the pop ups take over.  I am frustrated and desperate for any help anyone can supply.

Have you tried to clean the machine by running any anti-malware scans -- online or offline?

Thanks Bugbatter, I did try but the pop ups were relentless and took over before it could do anything.

I did find that if I went in under debugging mode I could download programs from dell site. I was then able to use the ctl+F11 so I could restore my computer, but everything was wiped clean. Morale of the story: use virus protection and scan often update and no price is too much to pay
