popup blocker only block popups and does not necessarily prevent them. You might need to disable startup item:
go to run->type msconfig->system configuration utility will comeup
go to services tab and check options for hide all microsoft services
go to startup tab and press disable all.
click ok and restart the computer
this will disable all startup item (including spyware hopefully)
This is just a temporary solution. You might need to install/download an antispyware software
From what you said it sounds like you might have a highjacker working in your system
Let's do this, go to
here and download
HiJackThis to its own folder that you create on your C:\ drive at C:\HJT.
After it is downloaded open the program and click Scan and Save to log.
Post the log that it generates in the
HiJackThisForum for analysis.
