Norton Viruis threat message

Question

Hello Everyone, Not sure if anyone can help with this but, I have Norton Anti-virus 2007. I keep getting a error message that webbuy is a security risk. It is being blocked from my computer. Then is says the computer is secure. I have never had a message like this before. I have done 2 full system scans. still happeaning. If it is being blocked, it may not be on the computer. Are you always on the same website when this happens? Are you using a two-way firewall?

Could it be "web buying"?

What anti-spyware (not anti-virus) scans have you run so far?

When I am on my computer, Norton sympatic shows an error meassage and says ' Auto-Protect has blocked Adware: Webbuy as a security risk your computer is secure' This meassege keeps poping up. It is very ingouing. It started today. Never has happeaned before. I have done an FULL SYSTEM SCAN twice. Still pops up. Can anyone please help? Are you always on the internet when this happens? Or does this happen offline as well?

Let's try a scan with something besides Norton.

Download and scan with SUPERAntiSypware Free for Home Users

Double-click SUPERAntiSypware.exe to install and use the default settings for installation.
Run SUPERAntiSypware and update the definitions before scanning by selecting "Check for Udates".
When done, select "Scan for Harmful Software".
There are three scanning options available. Choose "Perform Complete Scan" and click "Next".
When done, a Scan Summary will appear with potentially harmful items that were detected. Click "OK".
Place a checkmark next to items you wish to remove/quarantine and Click "Next".
A notification will appear that "Quarantine and Removal is Complete". Click "OK" and then click the "Finish" button to return to the main menu.
Select close to exit the program.

Note: If you encounter any problems while downloading the updates, manually download and unzip them from here.

If that does not help solve your Webbuy problem, post the Scan Summary and a HijackThis log on the HijackThis board. There are instructions at the top of the forum for posting there. Please include a description of your problem or a link to this discussion.

I will try that. This meassage comes up off line too. Even on boot up or shut down. when it pops up my program minimize. its inouging.

Super AntiSpyware did not fix it? Or didn't you run that?

It's all fixed! I bought webroot spysweaper. It cleared all of my spyware and adware. It great!

I did not run antispyware. I went out later that day and picked up Spysweaper. I have had no problems since. Thanks for everyones help.

Thanks for the info. Sorry my post was too late for you to read it. For anyone else using this thread for research, Super Anti-Spyware most likely would have cleaned that, and it is free.
