Please Help Analyze my HijackThis Profile =)

Hello! I am an avid World of Warcraft player and two nights ago when my character Faersylphael was in an instance, W.O.W. suddenly d/c'd me. This happens occasionally so I thought nothing of it. Then suddenly Internet Explorer stopped responding, repeatedly, even after I restarted my computer. So I activated Google Chrome in order to research the matter, and then reactivated Internet Explorer. Within about a half an hour I.E. was working again.

Then I tried to log back into W.O.W. but realized I could not log in because someone or something had attached an Authenticator Key to my W.O.W. account in order to lock me out of it. I emailed Blizzard.com about this issue two nights ago but they have not responded yet. I am very upset that my all of my characters have likely been stripped, including my level 78 human rogue and my level 72 Draenei mage. One thing I do know is that W.O.W. armory no longer lists my level 78 Faersylphael as being in my account so I imagine she has been moved to another server by the hacker involved. I do see that all of my other characters are still listed in my account, but I imagine they too have been stripped of all their gold and items.

Because, due to my tight budget, I have recently been without anti-virus and anti-spy protection (other than Windows Defender and Microsoft Security Essentials) I am sure that a keylogger would have had an easy time stealing my World of Warcraft account. I can also tell you that I have never before experienced a hacking theft of this kind as I am a 44 year old single mother who just started playing W.O.W. last year. Thus yesterday I did purchase and install Webroot AntiVirus with Spy Sweeper, which I hope is adequate, and if necessary when I can afford it I would also purchase Uniblue's Registry Booster. Fortunately or unfortunately, neither Webroot Spy Sweeper or Malwarebytes AntiMalware were able to detect any sort of keylogging infection on my computer. The only thing both of them could find were several adware programs which were easily quarantined.

However, pasted below is my Trend Micro HijackThis logfile and I am very much hoping that someone here would kindly analyze it and let me know if there is any evidence of a keylogger associated with my World of Warcraft account, and if so, what can be done to eradicate it. My email is: or I can do my inept best at finding my way back here to read your suggestions. Thanks in advance for any and all help! World of Warcraft is like a sanctuary to me and without it I feel a bit lost. Thanks again, Hillary Hays

Hi Hilary,

For security reasons, it would be good if you remove your email from your post.

Your Microsoft Security Essentials (which includes Windows Defender) along with the Windows Firewall should be adequate.

HijackThis v. 2.02 does not give an accurate picture of your system. Unfortunately, I am not able to help you with the keylogger problem.
Considering the potential legal and personal ramifications of helping to remove a keylogger, as well as considering the wide range of reasons it may have been placed on a computer, it is my policy to stay out of such situations.

If you have someone else help you with this and you believe the person who put a keylogger on the computer did so without legal authority, you should contact an attorney, your local law enforcement, and/or a qualified computer forensics specialist for program removal/data recovery.

Best of luck in finding the problem.

Regards,

Bugbatter
