Please help! Automatic updates denied... log posted
Automatic updates are disabled. I've tried all the dell support center suggestions.

O.K. What happens when you go directly to the Updates website and try to download them?

I tried downloading from the Updates website and got the following message: The website has encountered a problem and cannot display the page your are trying to view. The options provided below might help you solve the problem.
I tried all of the options and none of them worked.

1. Rename the SoftwareDistribution folder
Click Start ->> Run.
In the Run box, type services.msc.
Click OK.
Right-click the Automatic Updates service.
Click Stop.
Stopping the service will take a moment.
2. Rename the "SoftwareDistribution" folder:
a. Click Start ->>Run, type in %systemroot%, and then click OK.
b. Right-click the SoftwareDistribution folder, and then click Rename.
c. Type SoftwareDistribution.old, and then press ENTER to rename this folder.
3. Click Start ->> Run.
In the Run box, type services.msc.
Click OK.
Right-click the Automatic Updates service.
Click Start.
Starting the service will take a moment.
4. Start IE and then click Tools/Internet Options
On the General Tab choose Settings under Temporary Internet Files
Then click on View Objects.
Right Click WuWebControl Class ->> remove
Right Click MuWebControl Class ->> remove
5. Using Windows Explorer
Locate and Delete the following files
c:\windows\system32\muweb.dll
Now revisit Windows Update and redownload the activex controls
6. Close IE
Now click on Start ->> Run
Type wuauclt.exe /detectnow (there is a space betweeen e and /) ->> OK
Try the WU again

Under #4 from above
WuWebControlClass and MuWebControl Class were not there to remove.
Under #5 from above
I could not figure out how to access Windows Explorer. When I clicked on it, nothing seemed to happen. I did a search for wuweb.dll and muweb.dll, when they came up, I tried to delete them, but it didn't let me.
I also tried redownloading the activex controls, but couldn't figure it out.

Let's see if this will help us
Please download FixWareout from one of these sites:
http://downloads.subratam.org/Fixwareout.exe
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/files/lonny/Fixwareout.exe
Click Next, then Install, then make sure "Run fixit" is checked and click Finish.
The fix will begin; follow the prompts.
You will be asked to reboot your computer; please do so.
Your system may take longer than usual to load; this is normal.
At the end of the fix, you may need to restart your computer again.
Finally, please post a fresh HijackThis log, along with the contents of the logfile C:\fixwareout\report.txt

I was able to access the Microsoft website and I downloaded Microsoft Windows Malicious Sortware Removal Tool.
I ran it and removed two Vundo files.
However, after running it; and a service pak, I still receive Error number: 0x80070424 when I try to turn on Automatic Updates.

When I go to the Updates website, restore updates is grayed out.
