Please Help: Security Issues..Highjackthis attatched

Question

Hi, I've been having problems for the past week.  I have had to delete my Mcafee Security Center twice, and reload it because something is tampering/removing active x.  It is also affecting my spybot and adaware program as I have had problems with it.  My computer seems to be running slowly when it actually works.  Any help would be appreciated, here is my log. You are running Hijackthis from a temp location.Hijackthis creates backups that we may need, which could easily be lost or deleted from a temp location

So Click http://ralphcaddell.com/Uploads/HjThis.exe to download a self extractable version of hijackthis.

Double-click on hijackthis.exe to extract hijackthis to folder c:\hijackthis.
It will extract it to that folder and open the folder for you.
It will also create a shortcut on your desktop to Hijackthis.

Double click HijackThis.exe, and hit "Scan". When the scan is finished, the "Scan" button will change into a "Save Log" button. Press that, save the log, Ctrl-A to Select All, and copy its contents as a reply to this thread

Im having major issues in my whole system.  It is really slow, and I occasionally get a virtual memory is too low message.  My firewall, privacy service, and virus scan dont work, and I get a message that some or part of the service is missing or wasnt installed properly.  I have erased and reinstalled Mcafee security center three times, and It occurs all over again.  Im not real familiar with what is going on, but it seems like someone has put some sort of bug in my system.  Its a little difficult to explain, my internet doesnt work most of the time. cop3149 1. Go HERE and download AVG free Save the File to your Desktop, Do Not install it yet 2. *NOTE* CCleaner deletes EVERYTHING out of temp/temporary folders. If you have anything in a temp folder, back it up or move it to a permanent folder prior to running CCleaner! Download CCleaner from here to clean temp files from your computer. Double click on the file to start the installation of the program. Select your language and click OK, then next. Read the license agreement and click I Agree. Click next to use the default install location. Click Install then finish to complete installation. Double click the CCleaner shortcut on the desktop to start the program. On the 'Windows' tab, under 'Internet Explorer,' uncheck 'Cookies' if you do not want them deleted. (If deleted, you will likely need to reenter your passwords at all sites where a cookie is used to recognize you when you visit). If you use either the Firefox or Mozilla browsers, the box to uncheck for 'Cookies' is on the Applications tab, under Firefox/Mozilla. Click on the 'Options' icon at the left side of the window, then click on 'Advanced.' deselect 'Only delete files in Windows Temp folders older than 48 hours.' Click on the 'Cleaner' icon on the left side of the window, then click Run Cleaner to run the program. Caution: It is not recommended that you use the 'Issues' feature unless you are very familiar with the registry as it has been known to find legitimate items. After CCleaner has completed its process, click Exit. 3. Disconnect from the Internet, if you have an 'Always on' connection, then physically discaonnect it Then turn off and uninstall McAfee. (if you decide to keep McAfee you can re-install it later, but since it's giving problems let's remove it for the time being) 4. Install AVG free, you may need to reconnect to the internet to get the required updates. Glad to hear it, but your log shows you are running both AVG free and Mcafee. You need to only run one at a time. Did you have a problem with the uninstall of Mcafee?

Yes, I cancelled as much of Mcaffee that I could, but it would not let me delete the Security center.  It kept saying 'you must delete all Mcaffee programs, before deleting the security center'.  Well I thought that I had deleted all other Mcaffee programs, and I couldnt figure it out.   Shad

You have to turn it all off, before it will let you uninstall it.

Open Mcafee Security Center, once open there will be a series of tabs on the left; AV, firewall, email etc You have to open each tab and at the top of each tab window there will be a place to turn off that particular function, if I remember right it has a stop sign looking thing next to the turn off.

Once each once has been turned off, then close the program. Go to Add/Remove programs and uninstall it.
