Removing all useless/adware/trialware software that come with new Dells
I just purchased a dimension e510 and it comes with so much useless software that I didn't ask for or can't not ask for (i.e. macafee Trials, game trials, free AOL, free Netzero, google BAE, etc. ) I would just like to have a clean computer with windows XP and office installed. I don't need Dell to put all this junk in it before I even use it.
Does anyone have a list of all the trialware/adware (basically non-windows XP or office software) and the ways to remove them?

I just deleted all the programs I knew were junk (AOL, games etc) from my control panel>Add or remove Programs- sorry I didn't keep a list. I certainly advise getting rid of any google-related programs, since Dell has been using these lately to make it your default homepage.
The only truly clean way to completely rid your registry of all this preinstalled junk is to reformat your HD, and reinstall your O/S. To do this you will need the backup CD's for all your wanted software, and of course for your O/S. For those under warranty, Dell will send you them all if you did not purchase them when you ordered.(Usually free of charge- go figure!) You will want these disks in any event sooner or later.
The best way to contact Dell for this is to use the email or chat links found in the "Contact Us" link at the bottom of this page.
