System shuts down automatically - 'remote procedure call terminated unexpectedly'
when i start up my pc after about a minute the message comes up 'windows is now shutting down because the remote procedure call terminated unexpectedly' and then proceeds to shut down. i think it may be because i deleted some files i shouldnt have in registry editor. programs such as windows media player and internet explorer wont open. im able to stop it from shutting town by typing 'shutdown -a' in Run, but i have to keep doing that. ive tried system restore but it says i have to reboot first - same thing when i do reboot. typing 'services.msc' in Run doesnt work either - a message comes up saying 'internet explorer 5.5 or later must be installed' - and i have internet explorer 6! please help me, ive tried everything...

Go here and domwload VCleaner
Save it to your desktop, extract all content, and run the program
It will open a Dos window, and close after the program is complete.
You can download the tool on a working pc and load it to the problem pc
After the program runs reply with a report for the next step
You may have to use the "Shutdown -A" until it completes
If you have any problems please reply

Registry editor programs will not replace entries if you've deleted something you shouldn't have.
I will make 3 suggestions
1. If you think it's a system problem... Click Start->>Run, and type in sfc /scannow to see if a critical windows file is missing or corrupted.

3. If you think it's a serious virus/spyware infection
Go here and download Hijackthis
http://dsvs.org/5/HijackThis.exe
Save it in a convenient permanent folder such as C:\\HJT\\, double click HijackThis.exe, and hit "Scan". When the scan is finished, the "Scan" button will change into a "Save Log" button. Press that, save the log, Ctrl-A to Select All, and copy its contents AT THE LINK BELOW

Please do not be tempted to "fix" on your own. Hijackthis is a very powerful tool, if used incorrectly can cause system problems
