Question

Some how this got into my system and on the routine scan it came up. How do I get rid of it and how did I get it.

we need more information:   what's the name of your anti-virus program that found the problem? [my guess would be AVG] what is/are the name of the file in which this trojan was allegedly found?   'generic' trojans are sometimes [but not necessarily] false positives generated by a heuristic scanner.  it's being questioned here:   http://forum.grisoft.cz/freeforum/read.php?4,111442,111442#msg-111442

Here are the details that AVG had after the scan. Object name: SVCLauncher.exe. Object path: C:ProgramFiles/Dell/NicConfigSvc/ Discovery:TroganHorse Generic 9.ATTG Date of Detection: 12/13/07 8:45 a.m. File Size: 252 KB Healable: No Source: Backup I haven't read the link you sent yet. Is there someplace where you can learn more about security and what you need to know and what is the best to have at a resonable rate.

here is another person who is reporting that AVG is picking up on SVCLauncher.exe :   http://www.dellcommunity.com/supportforums/board/message?board.id=si_virus&message.id=64901&query.id=66069#M64901   my 'gut' says it's a false-positive... read my message #2 in the thread just cited to learn more, including how to test the file.
