I booted into safe mode with my restore disc in and was able to open system  restore, took it back a couple of weeks, now every-thing is fine again, a big sigh of relief from me.   :emotion-2:

Hi,

Welcome to the Community. It looks like a virus. Press the F8 key at the Dell Logo, select Safe Mode with Networking and press enter. After you log in into safe mode, try running malwarebytes, try an update first before running the scan.

If this does not work, you may have to restore your computer back to factory settings. You will lose all data if you perform this step. You can change the operating system within the link.

Thank you.

dilly2,

You verified an answer in this topic, but did not let us know which procedure worked to fix the problem.

Did Malwarebytes find anything, or did you restore to Dell factory settings?

I ran Malwarebytes  it could not find anything but i was not able to update it as everything i tried was blocked,
I think i will have to restore back to factory settings but it does not recognize the disk i made, so now i`m not sure what to do, i think i will wait and ask an IT friend to do it for me.

dilly2, Glad to hear that your problem has been solved.  Rather than starting a brand new thread everytime you post , click on Reply at the bottom of the original thread.  This keeps the topic together and will make it easier for those that provide help to continue to help if you need additional directions, etc. For example, if you look at my reply you will see in the bottom of right corner the word Reply. Click on Reply if you need to ask something else concerning your problem.

It appears from your post that you used System Restore rather than Dell Factory Restore.

Glad to hear that you fixed the problem.
