Windows update KB3006137
Anybody got info on the "out-of-band" Windows KB3006137 update (Win 8.1) that popped up today (2-24-15)?
I clicked the link for more info and it says:
Update changes the currency symbol of Lithuania from the Lithuanian litas (Lt) to the euro (€) in Windows
If that's all it does, why was it soooo darn important to issue it as an out-of-band update??? What am I missing here? :emotion-7:

Getting it also on Win7, as an optional ("recommended") update. Passing on it.

Microsoft hides the descriptions of all updates for a reason. You should 'take a pass' on the entire malware package known as Microsoft Windows :emotion-4:

I have no less than 40 optional (but recommended) Windows Updates I have declined for Windows 7, because they didn't apply to my situation, or fixed non-existent issues.
MS obviously has a low threshold for recommending updates.

Agreed, but what's the deal issuing an out-of-band update just to change Lithuania to the Euro, which is unlikely to affect 99.9% of USA users? Why was that so urgent it couldn't wait ~2 more weeks for the upcoming Update Tuesday? :emotion-43:
I allowed it to install on the Win 8.1 lappy (without any -obvious- issues) but declined it on my Win 7 desktop which is my most important system.
Not a big believer in conspiracies, but something smells odd to me. :emotion-4: :emotion-2:
