also: rumor or truth? when you download 'freeware' such as spybot S&D or anything like that, those can actually install spyware or adware onto your computer.

BUT not Spyware S&D or Ad-aware, those are the good guys. All the ones on my website are ad/spy free and I would install on my grandmums computer, and I have on all of mine. Link to my website below.
---------------------------------------------------------
Important: Create a folder on the C: drive called C:\HJT.
You can do this by going to My Computer (Windows key+e) then double click on C: then right click and select New then Folder and name it HJT.
Unzip HijackThis into this folder. When you run HijackThis from this folder and have it "Fixed checked" it will create a backup file of modifications to use if restore is necessary. Please delete the old copy so it can't be used. DONT RUN FROM THE DESKTOP.
---------------------------------------------------------
Check these in hijackthis, AND WITH ALL OTHER WINDOWS CLOSED, fix checked.
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [BLMessagingIntegration] C:\Program Files\Common Files\PSD Tools\blengine.exe
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Peto] C:\Documents and Settings\Jason Tcheng\Application Data\ltrc.exe
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [WINT] C:\WINDOWS\System32\wcpsu.exe
O16 - DPF: {56336BCB-3D8A-11D6-A00B-0050DA18DE71} (RdxIE Class) - http://207.188.7.150/25c7c0077bcf0fb71621/netzip/RdxIE601.cab
The following activeX controls will reinstall when(and if) you revisit that website, UNLESS you know they are from a safe source, check to remove.
O16 - DPF: {A48D0309-8DA3-41AA-98E4-89194D471890} (Pulse V5 ActiveX Control) - http://www.pulse3d.com/players/english/5.2/win/PulsePlayer5.2AxWin.cab
Then Reboot to safe mode (F8 on boot) and delete the following files/folders:-
Folder > C:\Program Files\Common Files\PSD Tools\blengine.exe
File > > C:\Documents and Settings\Jason Tcheng\Application Data\ltrc.exe
File > > C:\WINDOWS\System32\wcpsu.exe
Then Reboot and post a fresh log for me to check.
Re this program, I would not recommend it, none of my friends at spywareinfo etc have a good word for it. It is not malware, but is not considered to be any good.
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [SpyKiller] C:\Program Files\SpyKiller\spykiller.exe /startup
You are better of with the free spybot S&D and Ad-aware from the link on my website below.

and excuse my ignorance on the subject, but why didn't adaware, spybot s&d, spysweeper, etc... catch or delete any of the things that you told me to fix/delete? and since i have spywareblaster, will i not have this problem anymore (or reduced occurrences)?
thanks again for your help. i really appreciate it.

Your log is now clean.
Follow the link below to my site, malware section (or recommended section), and install spywareblaster, spywareguard and ie-spyad from the links (for those that you dont have) The site explains what each does.
Those with spy sweeper should make you as safe as can be.
With all those active you will be safer, do update them periodically.
However they are only as good as the latest update, just like your AV.
Spybot & Ad-aware are good for normal general cleaning, however new ones take a time to get installed in there databases.
