Zlob trojan,....ugh!

My windows defender keeps coming up with a zlob trojan and won't remove or quarantine it.  It shows that Norton has quarantined it, but when I look at the quarantined list, it does not come up.  I've done full system scans with Norton 2007, and it shows clean.  Any advice or links?  Thanks in advance

Click HERE to download a self-extractable version of HijackThis.
  • Double click on hijackthis.exe to extract hijackthis to folder c:\hijackthis.
  • It will extract it to that folder and open the folder for you.
  • It will also create a shortcut on your desktop to HijackThis.

  • It will scan and the log should open in notepad.Click on "Edit > Select
  • All" then click on "Edit > Copy" to copy the entire contents of the
  • log.
Go here: http://forums.us.dell.com/supportforums/board?board.id=si_hijack
and paste your log in to a New Message. Please include a brief description of your symptoms.
DO NOT have HijackThis fix anything yet. Most of what it finds will be harmless or even required.

EDIT:   After offering my suggestion, I see that ALgal has subsequently replied to your HJT-log thread, with an alternative procedure.   As such, I would suggest you bypass my instructions, and follow hers instead...
Note: If you've already followed mine, I don't see it as a problem...

Since you haven't received timely help in the HJT forum, you can try the following:

Taking for granted the accuracy of your ZLOB analysis (from [Microsoft's] Windows Defender), you can download and run the
Microsoft Malicious Software Removal tool   from here:

let it do a   FULL  scan, and see what it finds....

Thanks for the info...I've submitted it, with no response after a couple days.   Norton says the virus is a low threat, but Defender shows it as severe and it certainly is reaking havoc on my computer...is there a way to expedite a response from HJT?
