limitations on device groups on VMAX symcli
is there a limitations on how many RDF1 device groups we can created which are associated to a particular array?

If you are not using GNS, then no, there is no limit on the number of device groups you can create, RDF or otherwise.
If you are using GNS there are some limitations (although they are quite large) due to the limited database size on the array, but this is mostly to do with the number of devices being included in the groups.
