PowerPath VE VMware Plugin

Hello all,

I've been looking around for the MPP PowerPath VE from what I can tell it's called; however, in my research it seems that this multi-pathing plugin is not been validated for VMware 5.1 according to this VMware KB article.

VMware KB:    PowerPath/VE 5.7 does not load on VMware vSphere version 5.1

Is any one currently using PowerPath VE with VMware 5.1?

I went to my EMC PowerLink account (which is totally bare) It is showing me some Celerra and Clariion stuff which we don't have. This website seems totally busted lol.

Any advice?

Thank you kindly,

Steven

Cody is spot on and the only thing I would add is to make sure you are licensed for PP/VE. It isn't a free MPP - it requires a purchased license.  If you already own it then disregard my post ;-)

You are going to want PowerPath/VE version 5.8 that can be downloaded here:

https://download.emc.com/downloads/DL44827_PowerPath/VE-5.8.0-for-VMware-vSphere---install-SW-Bundle.zip

Note that support.emc.com has essentially replaced Powerlink with the exception that it uses the same credentials. Also note that the initial version of 5.1 isnt supported with PP/VE--you need ESXi 5.1 Express Patch ESXi510-201210401 or higher. It is supported though with 5.0.
