symclone behaviour

Hi,

I would like to clarify the following regarding symclone:

1. the option "-opt" -> optimize the device pair selection (source and target devices) to achieve the highest copy speed between them

Q. Does this apply also to -file option or only to device groups

2. -diff and -copy are the default options for symclone or we must explicitly specify them?

3. for TGT device, the the actual data point in time will be the time when session is activated

Q. if we create a session with -precopy option but session is activated after let's say 1 day.

Does the -precopy opion, copy data from the time when the create command was issued (like a point in time) and then stops or it behaves like a mirror pair keeping SRC and TGT syncronized until the clone session is activated

4.  For symclone, if you are using a file for device pair definition do you need to use the same file name for let's say a recreate operation or does not matter the file name only the dev pair inside the file.

Thanks

2) have to specify

3) behaves almost like mirror, target will try to keep up with source but if there is a lot of workload on source, you will see that target will "drift" a little bit.

4) file name does not matter, you can rename that file and as long as it contains the same pair of devices you are good.
