"Could not get Pool details" - VSI Provision Storage ?

Hi,

We are using ESXi5 with EMC CLARiiON CX4-240.

When we attempt to VSI Provision Storage, we get the error message "Could not get Pool Details".  We indeed get the Storage Pool Name in the screen but cannot proceed.

Your advice is sought.

Thanks

Since we purchase the EMC SAN from DELL and download the EMC VSI Plug In, can we ask EMC for support or should we talk to DELL ?

    Thanks

You can contact EMC Support and mention Primus emc291855. The Support personnel then will contact the VSI Engineering Team to get the hotfix and keep you updated.

I have dicussed with both EMC and DELL.  EMC says that we have to talk to DELL as we purchased the SAN from DELL.

On the other hand, DELL Support asks us to wait for next release of VSI (Instead of sending us the fix) *sigh*

I have followed DELL support's suggestion and downloaded the latest version of VSI.  Unfortunately, we still get the same error message.

Just wonder whether there is any clue for the cause of problem ?  And is there any suggestion ?

    Thanks

I've recently seen this issue.  It is fixed in VSI USM 5.2.0.290.  The issue may also be seen with VSI USM 5.3.0.  A version with the fix for 5.3.0 is expected to be released on http://powerlink.emc.com in the next week or so.
