VASA & INYO (Flare 32) got it going yet?

Just wondering if anyone has been playing around with this.

I’m trying to set it up, but don’t know what URL to use for the vendor provider as there is no separate SMI-S provider services anymore, it’s part of flare.

I’m guessing it’s the IP address of the SP, but what ports ect...

any ideas?

Have a look at the following KB article which provides the necessary details for connecting via the Control Station and SP Ports:

emc297057: "Login to the VASA Provider on the VNX Control Station fails with "A problem was encountered while registering the provider.""

For other visitors to this page, if this Primus doesn't answer your question check out my site here for additional info on adding a VASA Provider for VNX: http://vmtoday.com/2013/03/configuring-vmware-vasa-for-emc-vnx/

    Great info!

In addition to the references mentioned already, I would also recommend reviewing the following pdf available on support.emc.com:

Virtualization for EMC VNX Release Notes for VNX OE for Block Release Notes Version and VNX OE for File Version

This is issued with every new version of VNX OE and has important details on both VASA and VAAI.  For instance, it will list:

    1) Known issues

    2) Technical notes:

    a) Configuring VASA in vSphere

    b) VASA URLs for VNX

    c) VASA username syntax for VNX (common question)
