Thanks, I actually removed the stroage group, but the host still appears under hosts list and under the ~management storage group, despite the host having no connectivity to the array. The option to remove the host from the list is grayed out.

I'm just trying to clear things out so I can start over adding hosts.

Yep, restarted it on both SP's. If the host cannot see the VNX and cannot connect to the array, it should NOT appear in the host list correct? Or do I need to de-register it somewhere? IE, is it showing up because it was connected at one time?

Sounds like a GUI issue. I recommend you restart the mannagement server on the VNX. Go to: http:// /setup

Restarting the management server does not impact access to LUNs.

Did you try Ernes’s suggestion ?

I just found that, but THANKS. Support on this forum was faster than direct through EMC

For future reference, I went under monitoring --> connectivity status --> de-registered each link under the host. Refresh all and it's gone from host list.

I must be removing these hosts incorrectly because I just ran into this again and de-registering 10 hosts takes a long time.

Get into engineering mode and go to storage groups. DO NOT click on connectivity status on the host, instead click on it for the storage group. Then expand each host and de-register the connections. refresh and the host will disappear.

You should not attempt to delete ~physical storagegroup. This is a hidden SYSTEM storagegroup that enables access-logic.

(Sorry for shouting just wanted to make sure you understood)

Other examples are ~filestorage (for File control luns) and ~management

I will await the screenshots as well

Yeah the reason you saw these appear is you were in engineering mode

They are not normally visible

Cheers
