Copy a LUN from 1 FASTVP Pool to another Pool on the same 5300 array?
I've got a LUN that houses many gigs of ISO type data FC connected to a ESX 4.1 cluster. Since I can't use svmotion to move the data, is there any way on the array to copy the LUN to the other pool? I'd rather not go through the long process of downloading all the data to a client then up loading to a new LUN..
Thanks
Ron

Good morning,
Any of you guys know where logs are related to these jobs? I assume they are buried in the CLI or somewhere not obvious in Unisphere. My job completed but I still have the same LUN's in the same pools. I was expecting that the source LUN would move to the other pool and wipe the other LUN.
Thanks again for your responses.

OK so I was using the wrong tool.. SAN copy is not the one to use. Migration is the one to use. I was also confused that the destination LUN should not be presented to anything which makes sense in hindsight. Migration appears to be a much lengthier process than SAN copy but hopefully it will do all SMOKE and MIRROR's and ESX will never know it happened!
