Data Domain CIFS issues

Hello,

I am having CIFS access issues on Windows 2003 R2 servers. I can't mount a share or do a netview on a datadomain share. It has all telnet ports open and i can telnet from the server to datadomain. Strange thing is i can access the same CIFS share on Windows2008 R2 box but not on the 2003 box.

OS: 5.2.2.0-354796

Model: DD890

Yes we did attach the DD to AD. I did setup the access on that share but no luck. With the same access i can access the share on windows2008 R 2 box. It is just the problem with Windows 2003 R2

i don't have any win2k3 boxes left in my shop, the only thing that i can think of is either network related issue (firewall) or DDOS 5.2 dropped support for SMB1.

what version of DDOS ? Account that you logged-in to win2k3 server ..does that account have access to the share on DD. I also assume DD is joined to Active Directory ?

It is definetly not firewall as we have IP any any access between DD and the server. Anyways thanks dynamox for continous support.

Since DD isn’t a VNX or even a USD product I don’t think you will get much more on a VNX forum

I would try with BRS

I don’t think there is a Data Domain forum yet but there seems to be some talk on the Networker forum which is at least part of the BRS division

This is the fix for the problem

cifs option set "server signing"

This option needs to be enabled on the DD side for SMB1 servers

When you use the FQDN do you get the same error?  What about by ip address?

Its a seeting that should be enabled on the DD nothing related to FQDN or IP address
