Drive add to Tiered Pool Question
Hello,
We have a VNX 5300 (Block OE Code level 05.32.000.5.011) which needs to have more drives added to a tiered pool. The pool is currently built with 600GB SAS drives in a RAID 5 (8+1) and 2TB NL SAS drives in a RAID 6 (6+2). We only need to add (5) new 600GB drives to the pool and would like to put them as a RAID 5 (4+1). Is this possible or are we required to add 9 new drives and add them as RAID 5 (8+1)?
Any assistance is appreciated.

It is possible but best practice would be to add a multiple of the current raid setup for that tier

Agreed, we were just trying to fit it in without adding another DAE.
