Download Unisphere Service Manager

Using USM is the way to go.

Also - We have a valid support contract with EMC and I have requested upgrade assistance before on the support portal. You might check to see if you have that option.

Otherwise using Unisphere Service Manager is the tool to use for the upgrade process, hardware installation / replacement, report generation etc.....

I need to to know how to check the current version of our vnx and what was the available version for the VNX 5100

3 easy ways to check.System Properties from Unisphere, System from within USM or getagent from naviseccli

The target version for VNX 5100 is 05.032.000.5.218

Hi,

You may go ahead and upgrade to the target version: 05.032.000.5.218. You can generate the upgrade procedure from  https://mydocuments.emc.com/ ( Select Update VNX software under VNX Tasks) or you may use solve desktop for the same.

Yeah, you're only 1 version behind the target version. Good to take advantage of the remote upgrdades by EMC if you're entitled to it.
