You can refer to KB "Translating a CX4 and VNX Series World Wide Port Name (WWPN) to new port numbers" https://support.emc.com/kb/50750

But I'm afraid you could not get all the information from WWNs.

If you have access to the client you can try good old inq.exe

Roger, This is good article, but it's not about WWID that i'm asking about. It's about how to translate Port name, not LUN ID's.

I've downloaded " inq ", but it cannot help me because it is not decoding WWID - it's trying to find EMC storages connected to my systems and it's not available to VMWARE.

I need to decode WWID offline, not online by any utility.

I need some method like i have for HDS storages.

Hi,

where is the point of translating into "I need to get Storage type, Model, Serial, LUN number"

I can provide an example of such thing of HDS: Storage Meat: Decoding WWIDs (or how to tell what's what)

I need the same for EMC storages

Hi,

ARRAY Unique ID (WWN) is

50.06.01.60.BC.E0:1E.00

but i got several LUNs on it.

look @ the unique Lun ID

LUN1    60.06.01.60.70.50.29.00--6C.01.3B.63.58.33.......

LUN2    60.06.01.60.70.50.29.00--DA.19.69

looks like the beginning is always the same but no clue where the 60.06.01.60.70.50.29.00 is from....
