error when installing Block Enabler on VNX5100

are there any faults on the array ?

no there is no fault on trhe array as i know and everything is ok . otherwise when i try to get Diagnostics information from Array i got the error : unable to capture any data from either sp . there are several reasons why this may have occured .

yes the system is block only . but in the system software tab i have not block enabler installed

in the other words i have not block enabler pre installed

and better you know that i have that problem in installing any enablers not just block enabler

VNX5100 is block-only array ..why are you trying to install that enabler ? Isn't it already pre-installed ?

Can you post a screenshot of Unisphere showing System>Storage Hardware?

It would be best if you can expand to show the SPs and what is under them. It sounds like something is faulted or possibly just unmanaged.

I would recommend an SR get opened for this issue, are you able to access luns on both sides of the array?

hi . there is nothing fault there .

but have oyu ever got this problem when installing an enabler  on the VNx . with installing more than 10 VNX and 15 CLARIION i ve never got sucha this problem .

i dont understand what you mean . i cant install block enabler to add a server to my stofrage group and then access the luns are in it .

so whituout block enabler i cant test that my friend .

any idea!!!

My point is that

1. Whenever you see FLARE/ VNX OE reporting as degraded that there could be something more serious wrong
2. This is backed up by the point you say yourself that you cannot get logs

I still recommend getting a case open as soon as possible
