How to edit a File System Checkpoint
Hi all, we take a snapshot (checkpoint) of one of our vnx5500 File System every monday and keep two checkpoints. The schedule looks like this
It's been decided that we want to keep 4 weeks worth of checkpoints instead of 2. I can't see any way of editing the number of checkpoints kept. Can anyone point me in the right direction.
Alternatively, if I delete the existing schedule and recreate it with 4 checkpoints, will it retain the checkpoints kept with the original schedule?
Thanks for any help.
Ed.

Checkpoint schedules - once created - cannot be edited to control the number of checkpoints to keep. You will need to make a new schedule with the new number of checkpoints you wish to keep. Changing the schedule, however, does not delete any of your existing checkpoints. If you keep the same checkpoint name, it will simply create new checkpoints with the same numbered sequence (i.e. fs_usershares-weekly_003 and fs_usershares-weekly_004, respectively).
Let us know if this helps!

Hi Karl,
I have a daily checkpoint scheduled and I keep 8 checkpoints.
Now I have a specific request to keep for a month the checkpoint made last Sunday, how can I do it in a simple way?
Do I need to recreat the schedule with different checkpoint names or is there a way to rename or preserve the checkpoint made last Sunday?
Thank you very much for you support
Pedro
