I don't want to create thin luns. Uncheck the check box?

Pretty simple question, but I haven't found out how to change the default in Unisphere on a VNX 7600.

Anyone know on VNX2 how to keep the use thin lun option in unisphere unchecked?

I don't want thin luns, ever.  Applications require thick.  I will be creating a lot of luns and by having this as the default, it is really easy to make an error when creating luns.  How do I turn the default checkbox off?

Creating Pool LUNs can be done by selecting the Storage > LUNs tab from the Unisphere navigation bar or optionally, the LUN can be created by right clicking on the storage pool in which you want to create the LUN.

By default, the Thin box under the LUN Properties section is checked. To create a Thick LUN (fully provisioned), the user must uncheck the Thin checkbox under the LUN Properties.

I think you can only uncheck the Thin box under LUN properties as the picture shows.

That is how I've been doing it, but I am looking for a way to turn off the default of thin so I don't have to uncheck the box everytime.

It seems there is no way to change the default setting...

How about using CLI? The default is still Thick LUN if we create a Pool LUN through naviseccli command.

I can use the CLI, but just about every customer is wondering why thin is checked by default.  Should be able to uncheck the box if you want too.

There has got to be a way?

You have to uninstall the Thin Provisioning Enabler, or (even better) initially don't install the Thin Provisioning Enabler if you're not gonna use it. Uninstalling the Enabler requires a reboot.

Sounds look a good idea, but kinda drastic for such a simple function (especially say, if the customer wants to test thin lun functionality in the future).  Other than rebooting the whole array and turning the enabler off, does anyone know how to change the defaults?

There currently is NO way to change the default.

If you think this would make sense please open an enhancement request
