VAAI is built-in into the array, you don't need to install anything.
So Installing VSI plugin should be everything right ? and does it require any downtime ?
ESX tells VNX to offload certain functionality.
you install on the system where you run vSphere client
Do we need to have a licence to install this ?
Can you see the below link and confirm ?

no downtime is needed.

Also this can be reffered : https://support.emc.com/docu31107_EMC-VSI-for-VMware-vSphere:-Unified-Storage-Management--5.0-Product-Guide.pdf?language=en_US
for further queries.
Thanks
Rupal thanks for the info.. but if i need VAAi plugin feature for vcenter what is the plugin i need to install ?
So when we vMotoin the lun's the performace will be impacted on the array right not on the vcenter ???
No it does not require a License.
If you still have the access to powerlink then you can go ahead installing the VSI the same way.
