Migrating File System in VNX
Hello All,
I have a file system named “ server_dr” created from 4+1 Raid 5 NL-SAS pool and I want to migrate it to a R6 NL-SAS Pool. The file system is currently used as destination for replication session from VNXe.
Can you please let me know
- how I can migrate the file system to the new pool without affecting the replication
- If I stop the replication ( for 1-2 days) and copy the data from existing filer system to new and recreate the replication session, will it do only the incremental or start the full replication
- Which tool I should use to copy replicator, San copy or nas_copy
- Is there any option of LUN migration similar to one in block
The is a VNX 5300 Unified running 7.1.55-3
Regards,
D

Hi,
If you create a new replication session it will start a full copy, hence i would suggest you to create a new file system from new R6 NL-SAS drive and start a new replication session using the file system from R6 pool.
