Monitoring the CAVA Antivirus service?
I have been running CAVA on a VNX5700 NAS using Symantec Protection Engine 7 on 2 dedicated CAVA scanning engines. For the most part this setup works very well, however there are times when the AV service on the NAS stops running and I am not aware of it. I am wondering if there is a good way of monitoring the service on the control station such that I get an alert (email/SMS) when the service stops for any reason? We use Solarwinds in our environment as well but I did not find any baked in or Thwack community related templates that were applicable to CAVA or SPE 7.0.

Try something like below? Facility you are looking for is VC. I get emails when CAVA servers are down, but haven't had a situation where CAVA service was stopped (usually happens when CAVA service cannot communicate with any of the scanning servers).
