Need to know the HBA compatibility in CX3-10c array
Hi Friends,
We have CX3-10c in our environment, which is not under support. We are migrating a server to new machine and we are about to purchase new HBA cards for that server. (The existing HAS are not using anymore due to some issues). Can anyone please help me to identify the HBA models, which CX3-10c box will support. Thanks in Advance

I will answer generally that your server and OS/hypervisor are going to have far more impact on this that the array.
That CX has 4Gb FC front ends, and 1Gb Ethernet ports for iSCSI.
As FC will negotiate up to 2 previous levels a 4Gb, 8Gb, or 16Gb HBA from Emulex, Q-Logic, etc. should have no trouble logging in, either through a switch, or as a direct connect. You may have to adjust the HBA BIOS depending on which.

I would try using ELab Navigator Advanced Query (https://elabnavigator.emc.com/eln/advancedQuery) to put in your server model, OS version, and the CLARiiON CX3-10c and look at the resulting "Base Connectivity" report - that should give you supported HBA models.
Note the CX4 Simple Support Matrix has the following comment about HBA compatibility, which you can use as a basic guideline (there is no SSM for CX3 because it's no longer supported):
Note that most Emulex, Qlogic or Brocade HBA should work, but if it doesn't, you won't be able to easily get support for it from EMC because the array is out of support.

EMC qualifies different HBA's from different vendors. On the CX3, the qualifications probably stopped a while back when the CX3 when end of life.
Each HBA vendor (Emulex and QLogic) have a location on their web site for EMC drivers (usually under Drivers) and the list of supported HBA's. For both the Emulex and Qlogic there are EMC approved drives/firmware and installation guides. I would start there. Always check the EMC part of the driver section for the approved drivers.
