Procedure to Reset the Cifs Server Password
Experts---
Can anyone please let me know the procedure to reset the CIFS server password for local Adminstrator? Those CIFS servers were created long back and the password has been changed from default password to a other unknown password. So we are unable to map these CIFS servers with both default password and our company standard password format. Please provide your suggestions if anyone ran into this issue before or please provide any articles that were related to this.Thanks for your time and help..

is this CIFS server joined to AD or stand-alone, if it's a stand-alone CIFS server i am afraid you are out of luck. If it's joined to AD there is a chance the domain admin group was added to the local administrators group and you can ask members of the domain admin to connect and reset the password.
