Issues with Inititators
All:
We had a scheduled power down and were able to power back up the system on Monday.
We ran into issues though with our initiators for some reason they are yellow triangles
The brocade on the IBM Blade Center is wide open, no zoning etc.
We had this working before the shut down and now it doesnt want to see it. We have created the storage group, and assigned the IP to the virtual machine, and have used the correct WWN.
I need the system up ASAP, and I have worked with Federal tech support with little to no answers.
Thanks,
Ron

Agreed. However, Ron, do you see the discrepancy?
Host Connectivity for that HBA shows that it originally registered with (logical) port SPB0; however, from the switch output, you show what would be SPB2. Not to burden you down with the details for now (let's get you up and running), but you can tell the logical port from the middle digit(s) of the WWPN of the VNX SP port.
50:06:01:6a:47:20:0d:e3
8 = SPB0
9 = SPB1
a = SPB2
You need to map the logical port to the physical port. You can do so from the following breadcrumb trail in Unisphere:
> Settings > Network > Settings for Block
Look for B-0, then you can correspond that to the physical port via the "Physical Location" column.

According to Connectivity Status, the HBA was originally registered with:
SPB0 (not SPB2)

We are going directly from the VNX5300 to the Brocade Switch on the blade center.
We have 1 sets of fiber A0 port 2 on the VNX going via fiber to the brocade switch, (ibm blade)
We have 1 set of fiber B0 port 2, on the VNX going via fiber to the brocade switch (ibm blade)

what does output from "cfgshow" look like ?
Let's restart Management server on each SP to rule out Unisphere display "funky" artifacts, go to SPA/setup and hit Restart Management server, same thing on SPB.

unless someone went back there screwing with it... it didnt change to my knowledge....
so I need to put it on SPB0 not SPB2, which is the physical port....

Ron,
I don't see SPB0 logged in:
This would be: 50:06:01:68:47:20:0d:e3
However, what you have logged in is SPB2: 50:06:01:6a:47:20:0d:e3

Okay, so stepping back a bit, I see what you have logged into the switch which is a data mover port.
50:06:01:6a:47:20:0d:e3
Since you own a VNX5300, this could only be the connection to the AUX port (you have 2-way NDMP setup likely). Otherwise, the remaining Fiber connections from the data movers to the SP's are direct connected.
What is definitely missing from the switch output is SPB0 from the SP's of the VNX as that is what the HBA originally registered with. Identify the physical port from the SP's as noted above and verify it is physically connected.

Chris:
I will physically make sure that the SP's are physically plugged into the data movers tomorrow when I get in...
I guess I am trying to make sense of all this...
SPA and SPB there are two pieces of fiber going back to the blade, seems like 1 is attached and cabled properly and the SPB one isnt... It should be fiber going into SPB0 insted of SPB2 ?
edit: is there a HIGH res picture I can use for reference... Probably is I wasnt here when this was configured 9 months ago (go figure)
Thanks guys
