Once a Shared Folder Server has been created on the VNXe, you can manage the Share Permissions from a Windows host in your environment, limiting access to certain users or groups.  From a Windows computer, right-click on My Computer and select "Manage".  This will open the Windows Management Console on your local computer.  At the top of the window, where you see your computer listed, right-click on the computer icon and select "Connect to another computer ...".  Enter the UNC path to the VNXe Shared Folder, such as \\MYVNXe or \\SERVER.  Note that this name\IP should be different from the ones used to manage the VNXe.  This allows you to connect to the VNXe's shares and modify the permissions.  If you get an "Access Denied", make sure you're using the account that was used to set up the Shared Folder Server (often a Domain Admin).

Look under System Tools > Shared Folders > Shares.  Expand the list of shares, and you should see each share you've created (\\MyVNXe\SharedFolder00, \\SERVER\Share, etc.).  Right click on a share and select Properties.  Click on the Share Permissions tab.  By default, each share is available for members of the "Everyone" group to have Full Control (allow), Change (allow) and Read (allow).  You can add additional group and users in this view - just click on the Add button.  You can pull the users and groups from AD.  When you have all the user and group permissions set, you can go back and remove the Everyone group.  The VNXe will now only permit the users and groups you've specified.

Let us know if this helps!

You can set permission to the share by accessing the CIFS server or Share folder server from the windows in the following way:

Computer Management > right click name > Connect to another computer > Celerra_compname( CIFS Server Name) > System Tools > Shared Folders>Shares>right click the share and Set the permissions.

Note: You can also create shares through Windows path.

Note: Celerra shares can be created from the CLI or from the MMC console from a Windows system

Computer Management>right click name>Connect to another computer>Celerra_compname>System Tools>Shared

Folders>Shares>right click>New Share>Next>Folder Path: c:\m1 (enter upper mount point name or path for the share)>Share name:

Enter a name for the new Share>Select permission setting>Finish
