Storage Pool with Three Tiers
Just deployed a VNX5300 (Block only) for a customer that had all three tiers:
5 100GB FLash
15 600GB SAS
5 2TB NL-SAS
The question the customer has is, with the different tiering options for a lun, which option would they use if they wanted to direct a LUN just to the 600GB drives since now the "Highest Tier" is technically flash.

Ok, and just so i can educate the customer, when dealing with three different tiers in a pool, this becomes one of the downsides, if you loose a bit of the control in terms of directing to the middle pool. Does that sound accurate.

You cant manually direct it to the middle tier
All you can do is let FAST VP move the slices according to I/O temperature
