Thanks Rainer. When it does get released, will it be incorporated into the Flare OE? In other words, will the next Flre release 05.31.00.5.013(?) contain v1.1.25?

Also, how come that whitepaper is already released if the code isn't?

Keep in mind, for this Unisphere feature you should be able to even without upgrading FLARE or DART (to get the latest version of Unisphere when managed directly from the SP's or CS), run the Unisphere (Off-Array) Server Utility when it is released to get the highly anticipated Unisphere (VNX) domain membership feature.

Of course, any features/fixes fundamental to the version of FLARE or DART require the proper code on the array, but for Unisphere features such this, by managing your environment via the Unisphere (Off-Array) Server utility this could hold you over until you get the arrays upgraded.  There are of course many other reasons to obtain the newest FLARE and DART code when it does get released.

Rainer, can you confirm whether this is true?  Code is not yet out, and I hesitate to make this comment with absolute certainty, but I have do not have any reason to believe this is not possible.

Thanks Rainer; I agree after thinking about it again.  I'm giving the domain member station role of a separate Unisphere Management station more credit than it is capable of.

Ah, I can see that a new Flare for Block 05.31.000.5.502 and Flare for File OE 7.0.35.3 are available for download. I couldn't find the release notes for 05.31.000.5.502 though. Could this be the version that contains Unisphere v1.1.25?

This is just the name of the download site – the code is definitely GA – the announcement was sent out today.

Thanks. I looked on Powerlink and the only VNX OE for Block release notes I could find are for 05.31.000.5.012. I can see that the VNX OE for File release notes section contains the latest v7.0.35.3 notes though.

I'm installing the latest USM v1.1.25 and downloading the new Block and File OE's. Can I use USM to upgrade both the File and Block OE's on my VNX5300 unified system, or do I need to use a seperate tool to upgrade the File OE?

Yes, the code levels are:

VNX OE for Block v05.31.000.5.502

VNX OE for File v7.0.35.3

Unisphere v1.1 (1.1.25.1.0129)

VNX Installation Toolbox (VIT) 1.1 (1.1.0.1.10)

EMC ESRS IP Client for VNX Version 1.1 (1.1.25.1.0124-1)

UniSPhere is actually part of both VNX OE for block and for file as well as off-array UniSphere client/server
