VNX 5300 block level windows host adding steps
Dear All,
Am a newbee for EMC...i need steps to add a Win 2k8 R2 X64 host to add to VNX-5300 unified block storage.
All i have done till now is initializing SP and creating a storage group. I cannot see any host list in VNX.
Its a IBM H series chassis with Qlogic HBA for HS23 blade connected to Cisco MDS 9148 and VNX 5300 to same 9148.
Please provide me softwares reqd in win2k8 to initiate connection to storage.

did you double check your zones ? Your zones should contain initiators (host HBA) and target (VNX port WWN)

Finally i resolved..
MDS can by default detect only Physical ports. IBM chassis has a HBA module and each blade has a HBA V adapter. SO MDS was not detecting any virtual ports,
Finally after enabling this.. all WWN were detected in storage.

interesting, your previous screen (when you ran "sh flogi database") displayed WWN logged-in to the switch, assuming those WWN were from your blade servers.
