Hello,
I am searching some information about VNX and DFS.
Are there any documentation about this in powerlink?

Which CIFS manual? Can you tell us the name of the document?
In the "Configuring and Managing CIFS on VNX" document I found no information.
Thanks!

Hi,
I have found it in the document "Managing a Multiprotocol Environment on VNX".
There is a section regarding DFS.

You can create a DFS root on a VNX just like any other Windows server. You will use the MS MMC in order to do that
The main difference is that the DFS Root on the VNX can only be Standalone (not AD integrated) and you cannot use DFS-R
If you already have an AD integrated DFS then you can just create links in your DFS that will point to shares on the VNX

Our customer use dfs-r on windows servers. Now we install an emc storage and want to replace one of the windows server with the emc fileservices.

DFS-R aka FRS relies heavily on NTFS and is Microsoft proprietary
There is no NAS system on the market that has implemented this - only MS Windows
