VNX Simulator - version, functionality and usage - help requested

Question

As contractor I've been an EMC trainer for 12 years now. Last year I joined CommVault. A lot of customers use CommVault Simpana data management software in combination with EMC production storage, or with EMC storage as a backup target or both. That's why CommVault wants their enigineers equipped with at least basic VNX knowledge (if they don't have it already of course). We thought that it might be handy to use the VNX simulator tool as a demo tool. As far asn the documentation says, this tool allows to share out file systems etc. Using V8.1 of the VNX simulator I am able to access it through Unisphere and create filesystems. Apart from that, nothing seems to be working, I cannot enable licenses, start CIFS nor share out filesystems as CIFS or NFS shares... Can anybody help?

i have two 8.1 simulators running on top of ESXi 5.5. Everything is working fine, i have it joined to my AD, i have CIFS shares and Replication working.

i am using 8.1 , OVA format so was very easy to deploy in my ESXi farm.
