Which Vostro desktop is cost-effective for self-hosted home server?

ChatGPT recommends looking at the Dell Vostro line for a self-hosted home server. I am considering setting up a self-hosted home server for a new web application and would like some advice on cost-effective desktops that are suitable for this purpose. The web app will run within a docker container, and deployment will be managed by docker compose on a Linux OS. My plan is to acquire a two or three-year-old desktop. I consulted ChatGPT for advice, and s/he recommended getting a desktop with a newer CPU, such as the 10th generation of Intel, which is likely from the same year model used for ChatGPT's training data in 2021. S/He also suggested considering refurbished desktops, but after browsing Amazon, I noticed that all refurbished desktops with CPUs around six years old are likely too old for my needs.
