4gb ram or ssd?

I bought DELL VOSTRO 3501 around five months ago. It has 4 gb ram , i3 10th gen processor . It takes too much time to load anything . I want to speed it up .I don't use any heavy application just chrome , net surfing , vs code etc.

So should i add 4 gb ram extra and make it 8 gb (4+4) in total or should i add a ssd . Which is the better option ? .

Or is there any better alternative .

The SSD will definitely help with accessing files, loading programs, etc. as far as speed goes. But 4 GB is an awfully low amount of RAM. Considering that a 512 GB SSD is fairly low in cost right now and 4 GB more of RAM is also low I would go with both if you can find the finances to do it.
