Bios Update Fails
Hi so I tried recently installing the 1.0.7 BIOS update for my Vostro 15 7510 on the Support Assist app and it keeps telling me the update is failed. Is there a way to install this update, or do I even need the update? Any help would be appreciated.

Are you sure you tried to install the correct BIOS version? The latest version I see on the 7510 support page here is 1.0.4. That would account for the failure, if you tried to install the wrong version. And in this instance it is a good thing it did not continue as you could brick the MB. My usual advice is that if the system is running well and the BIOS version does not address a specific problem you are experiencing then let well enough alone. The forum is full of users that rendered their systems unusable with a failed BIOS update. There are posts in the past from a Dell moderator that has never updated the BIOS and the system that moderator has runs just fine.

That is the interesting thing, if I go to the support assist app it tells me there is a 1.0.7 BIOS update for my system, however if I look on the Dell support site to manually install it, it only shows up to 1.0.4. Currently my laptop runs just fine and I have the 1.0.4 already installed, so I think I'll take your advice and just leave it alone for now, especially if a failed BIOS update can possibly make my laptop unusable like you said. Thanks for the help!

Welcome to the Dell Community @Nonbank
Is there a time stamp for the notice to do the update???
If you notice the BIOS update is for the "Inspiron 15 7510/Inspiron 16 7610/Vostro 15 7510"
All 3 have their own driver support page.
The, 7610 just had an update " 14 Aug 2021" to Version 1.0.8
The "Compatible Systems" is only the 7610 ???
I wonder if there was an update for yours and it was removed because of an error???
It has happened before, and more than once.
For now I would not worry about it, but you may want to check it in a few weeks to see if anything has changed.
Best regards,

My Vostro core i5 gen11 did an update once and since that time I could not read or enter BIOS screen because the characters and text is over each other, I mean there is no space between characters and also it is written in unknown language like Unicode errors in it, I even can not select a boot device since that update happened, my question is how to revert that operation if it is available to do ??!!
