Dell Os Backup

Recently I've purchased dell Vostro 5620, the tech guy in the store said i should back up my dell OS to pendrive so if the os crashes you'll be safe because dell os is linked to its motherboard for this he said i have to give hime  a 32gb pendrive, and it'll be a service cost of 1000/- one thousand INR. I want to know if i can backup os on my own with out spending 1k for it.

You can create a Windows recovery drive. To the right of the Start button is the Search button. Click on it and type in Create a Recovery Drive. Follow the prompts and you will be directed to insert a flash drive of at least 16GB (32GB will be fine). Then again following the prompts a recovery drive will be created that you can use to recover Windows.

The other option would be to have an external drive such as an HDD in an enclosure or a large flash drive such as 128GB and using a program such as Macrium Reflect Free, available here, back up the entire laptop drive.
