Dell vostro 1450 laptop: Upgrading from core i3 processor to core i5 processor

Hi,

I am using vostro 1450 laptop, I wish to upgrade its processor from i3 to core i5. I am knowing not that whether it will be compatible ? Changes in processor IC pinout ? etc. If anyone come across this nature you could give your opinion...

im also wanting to do this. could i install an i5 cpu and 8gb ram, or could i go to 16gb

You can upgrade to an i5 or i7 2nd Gen CPU.

The i7-2640M would be a good choice.

And yes you can upgrade to 16GB memory.
