hi I have a Vostro 3360 with an intel celeron cpu.
I would like to add 16 GB of RAM ( 2x 8gb 1333Mhz) can the motherboard handle this much ?
if it can what is the maximum capacity ?
I also plan on buying an SSD for the OS on the mSata plug
thanks for your answers and have a nice day

Welcome to the Dell Community @thenedkelly
Your manual says:
Memory connector two SODIMM slots
Memory capacity 2 GB, 4 GB, 6 GB, or 8 GB
Memory type DDR3 SDRAM (1333 MHz and 1600 MHz)
Minimum memory 2 GB
Maximum memory 8

In a polish shop they were selling Dell Vostro 3360 equipped with 16GB RAM:
https://www.x-kom.pl/p/92516-notebook-laptop-133-dell-vostro-3360-i5-3317u-16gb-500-7pro64-3g-srebrny.html#Specyfikacja
Surprisingly, in all hardware specifications, it turns out that the i5 3317u or 3337u etc processor supports up to 32GB of memory, which requires four slots, and each of them supports an 8GB memory module. There are two memory slots on the motherboard, so the maximum amount you can put is 2x8GB RAM. So Vostro 3360 should be able to support 16 GB of RAM, and still below the hardware capabilities. Unfortunately, the manual (2012 - 06, Rev. A00) says that you can insert a maximum of 8GB RAM, e.g. 2x4GB RAM or 1x8GB RAM???
Especially interested in that matter 4 would like do the same as thenedkelly.

Welcome to the Dell Community @fidget49
Most manuals are a reference to what was sold with the unit.
It is in no way a guide to the hardware limitations.

Today I have successfully installed two RAM modules 2x8GB = 16GB. Used:
SKhynix 8GB 2Rx8 PC3L-12800S-11-13-F3
HMT41GS6BFR8A-PB N0 AA;
1600MHz & according to CPU-Z the voltage is 1.35 Volt. According to UserBenchmark: ".. Overall this PC is performing above expectations (66th percentile) .. 2 of 2 slots used 16GB SODIMM DDR3 clocked @ 1600 MHz Performing as expected (57th percentile) .. blah blah blah".
